The City of Webster’s Economic Development Department is accepting applications for the position of Economic Development Specialist. The purpose of this position is to assist the Economic Development Director and the Webster Economic Development Corporation in expanding and diversifying the City’s tax base by engaging in activities and designing programs and initiatives that result in business attraction, expansion, retention, and revitalization. These initiatives are accomplished by marketing the City to prospective retailers, developers, investors, and industry partners, preparing presentations and proposals, fostering relationships with commercial constituents, conducting business visitations, serving as the City’s transportation liaison, and managing the department’s website pages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of relevant experience required. Retail, marketing or recruitment experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Requirements:
Work requires analysis and judgement in accomplishing diversified duties. Requires the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents.
