The City of Webster’s Economic Development Department is accepting applications for the position of Economic Development Specialist. The purpose of this position is to assist the Economic Development Director and the Webster Economic Development Corporation in expanding the City’s commercial tax base by engaging in activities, programs, and initiatives that result in business attraction, expansion, retention, and revitalization. These initiatives are accomplished by marketing the City to prospective businesses, developers, investors, and industry partners, preparing presentations and proposals, fostering relationships with commercial constituents, conducting business visitations, and updating commercial property webpages and business directory. Position requires strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of relevant experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License is required

Position requires analysis and judgement in accomplishing diversified duties, as well as independent, critical thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents. Position requires high degree of motivation and ability to maintain confidentiality in association with business development.
